STi Competes in Ultimate Track Car Challenge
7/18/2012
This week marks a brave step forward for Air Lift Performance. In order to highlight the versatility and high-performance nature of their air suspension kits, Air Lift has entered the 2012 Ultimate Track Car Challenge, organized by Grassroots Motorsports Magazine.
This time-attack event held at the beautiful Virginia International Raceway draws some very fast track machines from across the country to compete for fast laps and glory. And all of the action is captured by the magazine for future articles and content in print and the web. As the premier “hardcore racers” magazine in the USA, GRM readers are not impressed with shiny parts, marketing lingo, or other diversions but rather focus on speed and results.
There will certainly be skepticism that air suspension is up to the task.
The choice of weapon for this battle is a 2005 Subaru STi that puts down 520WHP equipped with a full Air Lift Performance air suspension kit. This will be the only late-model car in the competition on air. While this fact is unique itself, Air Lift adds to the story by taking this car and driving it 650 miles to the event, highlighting its use as a daily driver.
In fact, the child seats were just removed from the back seat today. Most others will opt for the truck and trailer approach.
Overall, victory is not the goal here. It is rather to open minds to the idea that air suspension, when done correctly, provides a comfortable daily ride, a show-stopping stance, and can tear up a racetrack. Drive It. Show It. Track It. Not just a tagline; it’s a call to action!
