The past seven days have been dominated by Wörthersee – an annual event which takes place in Austria and America (otherwise known as Southern Wörthersee) during the month of May. Both shows follow the same principal, welcoming thousands of VAG enthusiasts together for a week long celebration of the German marque.

In more recent years, Wörthersee has also branched out to include BMWs, Mercedes and even the odd JDM model. If it looks good, it’s welcome here!

To kick off our Wörthersee coverage we’re heading down to Reifnitz in Velden, Austria, for the aptly-named Low Familia meet. With a club strapline that reads ‘Get Low, No Matter How’ it’s pretty much the perfect gathering for Air Lift Performance, and once again the Austrian crew didn’t disappoint putting on one of the best meets of the whole week.

What makes the meet even better is the location – this small piece of land belongs to an elderly couple who, every year during Wörthersee, allow the Low Familia club to park up allowing hundreds of car fans pour over the awesome machinery on display. Everyone is respectful of this, and it remains a super-chilled get together guaranteed to showcase all kinds of VAG goodness from air cooled classics to the latest GTIs.
