Ultimate Dubs is a pretty self-explanatory show. Take one indoor venue – located centrally within the UK no less – and then invite hundreds of high-quality show cars along. The end result, as you’d expect, is a weekend spent drooling over all the latest styles and car builds happening within the UK scene. And that’s never a bad thing.
Year after year Ultimate Dubs has continued to expand, now boasting to be the largest indoor event for VAG tuning across the whole of the UK. In fact, it’s now become the ‘unofficial’ start of the UK show season, with most tuners and enthusiasts building cars specifically to unveil at Ultimate Dubs more than any other event in the calendar.
Why? The winter months in Britain are properly bleak. Think minimal daylight, persistent drizzle and dreaded salt on the roads. It’s not really a time of the year to drive any car you care about, meaning any ‘show’ car gets tucked away in the garage until the sun makes a rare appearance in March… which just so happens to be the same time as Ultimate Dubs!
Combine this with an invite-only event and the quality of cars on display really is second to none. What’s more, the indoor location (and lighting) means every stone chip, paint swirl or even spec of dust is highlighted far worse than an outdoor show, so having a super-clean car is non-negotiable…
This year’s show well and truly set the benchmark for all others to follow, and Air Lift Performance was super-proud to see so many quality cars running our products across all three halls. In fact, Air Lift Performance dominated the main hall with our own stand alongside Car Audio & Security, Players Show and Meguiar’s UK all boasting a massive selection of aired-out cars on display!
One of our favorites from the show was the Car Audio & Security Mk7 Golf R – the perfect example of style and performance working perfectly together with a little help from Rotiform’s all-new cast LSR wheel design. We’ll be bringing you a full spotlight on this build later in the week.
If Ultimate Dubs is a good way to gauge how the 2017 season is shaping up, it looks like Air Lift Performance is in for another massively exciting year across Europe and we can’t wait to get back over for both Players Classic @ Goodwood and Worthersee in Austria.
